FAQs

The lifespan of a kitchen worktop depends on the material you are using, however the average is between 10 to 13 years. When it comes to wood worktops, the lifespan primarily depends on how well the surface is maintained over time. Due to their ability to be sanded and re-oiled, wood worktops can outlive any other worktop type.

Kitchen worktops can come in multiple standard sizes depending on the size of the kitchen. Most of our worktops are produced in accordance with standard kitchen cabinet sizes. Our thicknesses are between 12mm - 40mm, depending on the worktop type. In terms of widths we offer 620, 720, 930, 960 and 1240mm, whereas our lengths come in 1M - 4M. We are proud of being the company with the highest selection of kitchen worktop sizes in the UK.

In general, most kitchen worktop materials are susceptible to marking or cracking if exposed to very high temperatures. This includes both natural and man-made countertop products. We highly recommend using a worktop protector, hot rods or pan racks to protect your kitchen work surfaces and help you to keep a clean and tidy work environment.

Fitting a kitchen worktop isn’t the easiest of tasks but you don’t need to be an experienced DIYer to take on the challenge. We have an extensive list of detailed guides to help you, such as our wooden worktop installation guide. Need a bit more help? We’re happy to assist via phone or email should you require.
