Care Instructions Tips:

Natural hardwood worktops come with many benefits - not least a luxurious look and durable properties. With basic care & maintenance, your worktop will last a lifetime and beyond. Maintenance simply means a refresh of the protective oil coating every now and then. You’ll know it’s time to re-oil when the existing oil dries out. If a drop of water sits on the work surface, the oil level is fine. If it sinks in, it’s time for another coat. You should also always use a worktop saver for hot cookware and avoid chopping directly on the surface.

about the worktop

Why Ash Kitchen Worktops?

The Ash Wood has a slight coarse texture and it is unique because of its distinctive ring - porous grain pattern. While the Oak Wood has uniform straight grains, the Ash timber distinguishes itself by its exposed and clearly visible annual ring grains. Each wood type has its unique features and with our Kitchen Worktops, our mission is to preserve those features, as they are a part of each timber's natural beauty. For a more detailed view on our Ash Worktops, you can read our blog.

Durability: Often the Ash Worktops and Oak Worktops are considered to be similar in general strength properties and tree size. Also both, Oak and Ash, have similar high density micro-structure which is caused by extreme moisture level and temperature differences between seasons. This internal stress increases the density and hardens the wood fibers and hence creating and extremely hardwearing timber surface. Ash Wood, similar to Oak, is one of the heaviest and most enduring wood types in Europe - 820 kg per cubic meter ad 8% timber moisture level.
